Weeks after a controversial decision to open an urgent care center near Venice Regional Medical Center, Sarasota Memorial Hospital has voted to buy land for another walk in center near its Sarasota rival, Doctors Hospital.
Sarasota Memorial’s board voted to spend $3.5 million for the 3.4-acre site on Bee Ridge Road, just west of Interstate 75 on Monday. Costs will total $5.75 million with construction, equipment and other improvements.
